HK416 Assault Rifle

The HK416 is an assault rifle developed by the German company Heckler & Koch. Its development started in the 1990s to create a rifle with greater reliability and accuracy than the M4 used at the time. The result was the HK416, which introduced several key innovations. In 2004, the HK416 was publicly unveiled and quickly gained popularity due to its gas system derived from the HK G36, offering improved reliability.
In 2006, the first version of the HK416 entered service, undergoing testing and use by special forces worldwide. In 2007, U.S. special forces SEAL units adopted the HK416, further solidifying its reputation. By 2008, the HK416 became the primary rifle of the French RAID unit and other special forces. Between 2010 and 2020, various military and police units worldwide adopted the HK416.
The standard HK416 model features a robust and reliable construction with interchangeable barrel lengths (10.4", 14.5", 16.5", 20"). This model retains the standard Heckler & Koch gas system.
The HK416C is a compact version with a shorter barrel and telescopic stock, making it ideal for confined environments such as vehicles or urban settings.
The HK416A5 is a modernized version of the original HK416, introduced in 2012. Improvements include an updated gas system, better ergonomics, and enhanced modularity.

Internal Components

Inside, the rifle features a completely redesigned, reinforced ÆTHER gearbox capable of handling AEG springs up to M140.
The gearbox contains CNC steel gears in a 16:1 ratio, an ideal balance for high rate of fire and durability, even with stronger Specna Arms M135 springs. 8mm J-Cage bearings include ball bearings on the motor and piston gears, while the sector gear has a bushing for added durability. This configuration was optimized through extensive testing to achieve the perfect balance between durability and rotational speed.
A reinforced polycarbonate piston with 14 steel teeth ensures optimal Angle of Engagement (AoE) and prevents gearbox lock-up. The CNC piston head features enlarged vents for efficient airflow direction into the CNC double-sealed cylinder head, housed in a stainless steel ribbed cylinder for improved cooling during sustained fire. Airflow into the hop-up is managed by a CNC nozzle with a reinforced tappet plate. Reliable feeding is ensured by a strong tappet spring and a sector gear delayer.
The 416 rifle is equipped with the HAL ETU™ electronic processor unit, utilizing magnetic sensors and Hall effect trigger detection. It includes active braking, binary trigger, adjustable trigger sensitivity, precocking, programmable firing modes, and a low battery alarm.
For accuracy, the rifle features a 6.02mm precision barrel fitted with a Helium Flat-Hop rubber in the redesigned MAGNUS™ chamber with TDC pressure system.
The package includes 3 different AEG springs, allowing you to use an M90 spring for CQB arenas. Within a minute, thanks to the ESA2 quick-change spring system, you can install an M115 spring for standard events or switch to the M135 spring for a DMR setup with exceptional range.

Warnings

• Some manufacturers' springs are heavily overpowered (e.g., an M130 spring may perform like an M140-150), potentially exceeding the declared durability of the gearbox. It is recommended to use only the included Specna Arms springs. If using other manufacturers' springs, M120 is a safer choice to prevent potential gearbox damage.
• When changing a spring with progressive (irregular) winding, ensure that the end of the spring with the tighter coils is facing outward from the gearbox.
• Never store the gun with a connected battery.
• Never store the gun with pre-cocking mode activated. Always release the piston before storing to prevent spring damage.

Activating HAL ETU Before First Use

To start shooting, you must activate the HAL ETU unit and follow this procedure exactly; otherwise, the gun will not respond to the connected battery:

1. Switch the fire selector to Safe mode.
2. Connect the battery and wait 3 seconds until you hear a beep.
3. Press and hold the trigger for 5 seconds until another beep is heard.
4. The gun is now ready to use.
